I paid £340 for a full head highlights, cut and blow dry service after clearly explaining that I wanted to feel noticeably blonder, brighter, and as light as possible while keeping the tone neutral/ leaning towards golden. I also specifically mentioned that I disliked how dark my roots/top area felt and wanted to minimise the darker tones. The cut itself is nice and the colour is technically blended, however the overall result feels far darker than what was discussed during the consultation. I showed previous photos of my hair colour and also brought along hair extensions I had previously been professionally colour matched to, clearly explaining what I wanted and what I wanted to avoid. Much of the blonde through my mids and ends was already present before the appointment, and I left still feeling predominantly brunette through the top and crown rather than noticeably blonde overall. The highlights through the parting and crown also felt too sparse to create the brighter blonde effect I had specifically asked for. When I raised this at the end of the appointment, I was told that I had let my hair grow out too much and would need to return in 2 months for further highlights to counteract the darkness. Unfortunately, this was not something that was communicated during the consultation before proceeding with a £340 service. I was also disappointed with the finish of the blow dry. While the shape and layers were nice, the overall styling lacked the polished, glossy finish I would expect from a premium salon appointment at this price point, with visible frizz and dryness still present through the top and crown. The attached photos were taken approximately 10 minutes after the appointment, after a short 5-minute walk home in sunny weather conditions. Please also note that the blow dry and cut portion of the service alone cost over £100. Overall, this did not align with the brighter blonde transformation I had asked for and expected. If achieving that result was not possible in one appointment, I would have appreciated that being communicated clearly at the beginning so I could either adjust expectations, choose a different service, or seek a second opinion elsewhere. Given the level of detail provided during the consultation and the price point of the service, I left feeling extremely disappointed with the overall outcome, particularly as this appointment was booked ahead of an important occasion for me.
